Monitoring

• The tree count will be monitored yearly by satellite as well as by random visits. If serious fraud is encountered the group will be scrapped and all future payments halted.
• On site monitoring should be done by existing community based NGOs (or GOs) with a good reputation. These in turn should be subjected to international audit (by INGOs).
• As a marketing tool (sponsor a tree) all trees could be plotted on a google earth site, so its growth could be followed on-line
• The location of each tree for which tree credit will be claimed has to be communicated. May be mobile phone location might help.
• The scheme is supported in various ways by the Earth Club
