Implementation
Implementation
Important is the information flow from national level direct to the planter by way of mass media: radio, tv, printed press, on-line, but layers of tree club initiators will play an equal important role.
There can be various layers, at regional, provincial and/or district level, which can overlap.
NGOs, GOs, volunteer and commercial enterprises can all apply to start a regional tree club and so compete for a share in the implementation monies.
There will be incentives for:
Each village tree club started
Each tree planted
Information material developed and information campaigns conducted
Special consultancy and projects for other (energy) activities
Regional agents should visit aspiring village tree clubs, give them all information needed, hand over the starters parcel and infuse leadership and organisational skills.
Regional tree clubs should not outgrow 10.000 members (max income level $ 10 Mn)
Regional tree clubs are supported at national level with a good website, information campaigns through the media, information packets and courses concerning:
Details of the tree club scheme
Tree species, tree planting, tree protection
Orchard growing and maintainance
Leadership training and social interaction
Alternative energy sources
Compost and waste management
